Week 5 Recap

Weekly Awards

Best Manager

Gary of Rip Lips. He set a lineup that could have only possibly scored 4 more points.

Worst Managers

Ory and Daniel of the Colt 49’s lost out on a whopping 48.3 points, which certainly would have won them their game.

Biggest Blowout

Alex and the Football Cream decimated the Fly Boyds by 36.44 points with a score of 127.34 to 90.9. This win was made in part by strong contributions from Tom Brady and Josh Jacobs. Kind of two different ends of the spectrum there huh? I remember back in the mid ‘10s that there was a joke we had that whoever had Tom Brady on their team was a competitor in the playoffs, and might even make the championships. I remember taking Tom Brady just for that reason tbh. Now that was near “the end of his career,” and here we are. He’s doing better than he ever has before. Gross.

Narrow Victory

Somehow, someway, everything came together for Yuriy and the Goo Backs to pull out a win against Jake’s DonGodwin’s Underdogs. 152.66 to 152.28. Yes, that is the difference of less than 4 yards. So many scenarios could have happened for Jake to win that game on Monday and somehow the one scenario that meant he would lose is what happened. Now, I’m not sure if you guys saw but Jake had the win before Jonathan Taylor’s final rush. I assume he lost yards because it was 152.66 to 152.68, and then Jonathan went down. Now if the Ravens had kicked a field goal at any point Jake would have won, if they would have got the extra point at the end, he would have won. Instead we get this, the closest win we’ve seen this year.

Highest Score (And Overachiever)

Tone’s Herb Seasoning scored 225.72 points, 148% of their projection. This was the only way to beat Fresno Brown Streaks, who scored 145% of their projection and hit 202. Wild game, Cone almost caught up after being down by nearly 100.

Lowest Score (And Underachiever)

Matt and the Fly Boyds remained grounded this week only reaching 63% of their projected total with 90.9.
