Speaking about divisions I feel like crunching some numbers. So bear with me for a moment.
EAST
Total points scored: 994
Total Points Against: 1,055
Total W/L: 2/6
NORTH
Total Points Scored: 938
Total Points Against: 917
Total W/L: 5/3
WEST
Total Points Scored: 1,026
Total Points Against: 986
Total W/L: 5/3
Early Points For Leader: Greenbowl Packers (Val) 296 PF
Early Points Against Leader: Kendall Fire (Matt) 283 PA
What does all this mean exactly? Does PF matter as much as PA? It's hard to say exactly, but the division with the lowest PF also has the lowest PA and winning records, while the team with the highest scorer (1-1) also has the highest PA and losing records. It's hard to determine this early, and after only two weeks things can change. But just a tasty morsel to hopefully get you guys talking.
POWER RANKINGS
HEARTBREAK OF THE WEEK
Spagett!! 916 (Yuriy) versus Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood (D. Smith)
This was the play that caused the loss, late on a Monday night. Yuriy's long line of having absolutely 0 luck continues to play out in a fantastic display of crazy. To think, if Gore had even just fallen straight to the turf Yuriy could have at least tied... Also, sorry about Decker and Romo :(.
Greenbowl Packers (Val) versus Gronkin' Up Somethin Good (Nic)
RIVALRY OF THE WEEK
Unprotected Soup Kitchen (Alex Gomez)
VS
Always Runny In Philidelphia (Ory Yaslinskiy)
A fairly new rivalry here, but definitely a heated one. Alex takes on a Yaslinskiy, and extends his undefeated streak. I believe that makes it 4-0. This game was an interesting one, first I'll have to mention that Ory's score of 94 includes a whopping -8 from SF D/St, an 11 point swing for just the average 3 that Titans D/ST put up. Jeremy Hill also had a complete stinker at 0 points for Ory. Alex's team did pretty damn well, Julio put up, Palmer ate his hot dogs and even Green had a weird TD catch. If Ory had put in Dion Lewis instead of Hill (shouldn't have), played no D/ST and put in Ebron (c'mon he's almost Lebron) he actually would have had 136 points... still not enough to win. Sorry Ory, but better luck next time.
Alex, just keep on hoping that Carson Palmer keeps feasting.
Good luck week 3.
